    Hose Clip/Hook

New to the forum at TB (in fact, it's been several years since I posted on any forum . . . yikes). Just received a new Brain Bag. Having owned Osprey, Sierra Design, Lowe, Mountain Smith, and Patagonia bags, I am impressed. Nice product. I noticed, however, on the right shoulder strap a hydration hose clip/hook. The Brain Bag does not have a dedicated hydration bladder pouch, though I suppose one could throw a bladder into one of the compartments. Just curious if others have noticed this and what have you used the clip for? Thanks.

We'll try to get a few photos of the Smart Alec and Brain Bag with hydration bladders soon.... stay tuned.
Have a question? @Darcy (to make sure I see it)

Current carry: testing new potential materials in the form of Original Large Shop Bags.

I am wondering if it would be possible to attach a Camebak Unbottle to the front of the Smart Alec. The former has gatekeeper clips - not sure if the size & placement of the clips on the former fits & matches the location of the loops on the SA & if the loops on the SA would bear the weight of 70 to 100 oz of water (almost 5 t 7 lbs, including weight of the Unbottle.

I just read the blog post that mentioned a clip on the Synapse for a hydration hose - is that new? If it is, can it be added to an older bag that doesn't have one? I have used mine for a lot of hiking, and the only change I've wished for is better possibilities for integrating a hydration system. I've improvised, but a dedicated clip would be an improvement over my current technique.

The loops on the front of the Smart Alec are generous enough to accept GateKeepers and plenty strong; the loops are set about 4.25" inches apart (on center) vertically and roughly 7" apart on the horizon. Hope that helps.

You can add the hydration tube clip to an older bag that doesn't have one. We'll add the clip to the website for order soon, but we can send you one no charge. (Maybe send us a photo of the Synapse in use with your hydration system?) Email [email protected] with your address.
