PCSB in Solar

Am I missing something somewhere? Why doesn't the Packing Cube Shoulder Bag come in Solar? We practically live at the beach during the summer with at least 2 separate week long trips every year. I was thinking how great this would work for those trips as a packing cube and then beach bag and of course how awesome that bright yellow dyneema would be. I hoped on to check this morning and saw that it isn't offered in the Solar. What gives?

It isn't even listed as an option though. Like you know the stuff that is sold out and on back order, you can still order it? Not the case with the PCSB in solar. Same with the backpack one. I figured it would work just as well but no solar either.

I've seen packing CUBES in Solar, but never the SB or BP. Did these items ever exist in Solar?

It's one of the first ones I got when they had them available, back when the dimensions of the bag were a little wider.

I usually use it as my purse when I go to Oakland Athletics games (their team colors are green and gold).

I feel so fortunate!

Dang Lani! Now I want one even more. You can see there used to be a solar one in the pictures, but alas it is no longer an option. I wonder why. Lanie, if you get tired of that one, you just let me know!

Dyneema colors are specially designed for Tom Bihn Inc. Steel is the staple color but over the years, the forum devotees and I am sure, other customers, have asked for Dyneema in cheery colors .
They are usually a limited run.


The tip I always give to people new to the forum, is to grab whatever you can afford, in the colors you love, as soon as possible, in one or multiple orders.

The way to achieve this is to visit the Forum and Blog fairly often, so that you do not miss any announcement, make extensive use of the Wish List on the website and put the item(s) you really really really want the most on pre-order.

As an example, when Dyneema UV first came out, I fell in love.
In my next order there was almost everything made in Dyneema and that was going to be the main order for the year (early spring).

I did not put the UV Synapse on pre-order and the first batch sold earlier than I expected so it was replaced by the FJN. I finally set the Synapse up, on pre-order and got it in late summer/early fall.

At that time, the Azalea and Turquoise came out and I bought some favorite in Azalea plus the remaining UV Dyneema items I didn't have. I missing the Travel Tray which came out after my order. (Holidays/New Year/Valentine's day order).


No matter what color you choose, Dyneema items are terrific, they fold into nothing, are very lightweight and extremely strong.

I bought the Packing Cube Backpack (Aeronaut) and Packing Cube Shoulder Bag, in Steel, shortly after they came out.
They replaced a unusable commercial "space bag" and loads of plastic zip bag, which, even reused multiple times, are still disposable.

The Packing Cube Backpack (Aeronaut) and Packing Cube Shoulder Bag enable compression-like packing and 2 extra lightweight bags at one's destination!

I finally got a Large Shop Bag in UV, the Large Shop Bag debuted on 20 August 2009 at 3:02 pm, there had been a plethora of glowing reviews and gorgeous pictures so I am late to the party. Believe it or not, it happens.

It was a big splurge for me but I went ahead and got all 4 colors as soon as I could. No regrets!

Not to prod you, darbs, but I was just at the store, and took advantage of the fresh batch of clear organizers in Iberian (also got one in Cayenne). They weren't available in the medium last time I was there.

Oh, don't you love the Cayenne?!?! I wish bags came in Cayenne on the outside, not just the inside. Iberian pouches?.....*sigh* Now to figure out how to get that order here without the BF noticing.

I have a Storm and Cayenne Medium Cafe Bag and I love the color combo. If there were a Small Cafe Bag in Linen and Cayenne, I would most certainly order it.
