How do you like to attach the cord on your zipper pulls?

I've been trying some new cord for the pulls on my Co-Pilot and wondered how folks like to attach the cord to the metal pulls. I went through four different methods.

What's your pick, or do you have something different?

I chose the latter (your 4th choice) for most of my TB bags that I added the zipper pulls to, it silences the otherwise loud and jangely metal zippers. On my co-pilot, I liked the look of sleek and cut off the metal pulls, so it's just the cord pulls. Nice and stealthy!

I added paracord zipper pulls to my smart alec. It didn't have the metal tab zipper pulls, so I attached the pulls directly to the loop on the slider piece. I used both method 1 and method 3. I prefer 1 - unless I get it upside down. It was hard getting doubled paracord through the slider loop.

For my Co-Pilot, I went with option 3 - added the pulls to the metal zipper tab.

My Co-Pilot came with a set of pulls included (for me to add). My Ristretto surprised me in that it did not. On the other and, the box had a TARDIS on it, so it's good. Justifies another order. Hmmm ...

I went with #2 for the front side pockets on my CP and #4 for on the zippers for the main compartment. I like that both of them prevent the cord from floating on the metal pull but #2 tends to force the metal pulls to stay in certain positions because the cord contacts the slide. Not a big deal unless you don't like the position it tends to hold. I may go with #4 on all of them.

You are also limited in which configuration to use depending on if you are using a pre-knotted pull in which case you are limited to some variant of 1 and 2.

I also tried a different pull & attachment method...might be overkill.

No wrong or right way. I just like the shorter pulls so I put them on the zipper pulls like the picture in my post above.

I use your #4 example. Keeps things a little quieter.

That's how I do mine too, except I have them upside down compared to you. I have it so the tab sits toward the bag when the metal pulls are sitting opposite each other. I thought it would keep things a little flatter most of the time.

All these photos have made me want to switch the black chords for something more colorful!

That's one I hadn't considered, going through the slide and both holes on the metal pull. I'm sure it is effective at minimizing any nose. I'll have to give it a try.

Awesome photos! I use #2 with the heavier milspec 550 paracord, which at 4mm diamter is so thick that it's hard to fit the double-ends through the top hole in the metal pull and even harder to fit into the TB plastic heads. But the pulls are absolutely quiet afterward, and they're nice and soft and easy to grab on to.

I do not use the thinner synthetic braided rope that comes with the TB soft zipper pull kit. For one, I had the heads pull right off, and that just doesn't happen with the paracord. But two, the thinner rope still results in noisy pulls.
