What are the best organization accessories for a Synapse 19?

I just received my Synapse 19, and I love it. Now, I'm looking to add some accessories to it for more organization. I am wondering if other S19 owners can weigh in on the Tom Bihn accessories that are a best fit for the S19 pockets. And specifically, what sizes of those accessories are best?

I am mainly looking to accessorize the:
    • main compartment with something to hold clothes (large stuff sack vs. packing cube?)
    • 2 side exterior pockets for small effects (organizer pouches vs. something else?)
    • exterior bottom pocket for cables or really anything (organizer cube vs. side effect vs. snake charmer?)

Anyone have any recommendations on the best accessories for these compartments?

    Thanks.

You can fit one Medium Tri-Star packing cube or 2-3 small packing cubes in the main compartment; a couple of Size 1 or 2 Stuff sacks should fit in the nooks and crannies. Of course, it depends on what you pack; however, since the Synapse is rounded and the cubes are rectilinear, you should have some free space if your cubes aren't over-stuffed. It may seem counter-intuitive, but I tend to think that smaller cubes work better since the top of the Synapse is tapered, but your mileage may vary.

I can fit a Mini or Small Organizer Pouch in the side pockets. Size 1 stuff sacks would also fit.

Any of the items you mentioned will fit in the bottom pocket, but the Snake Charmer might be a bit of a squeeze if it's really full. Depending on what you're bringing, I think a 3-D cube or Side Effect and a Size 1 stuff sack could give you some good versatility.

I think that the best sized accessory pouch/cube for holding clothes in the main compartment of the Synapse 19 would be one of the following:
      • Western Flyer Small Packing Cube 11.7" x 8.6" x 3" (298mm x 218mm x 75mm), 4.9 liters
      • Tri-Star Medium Packing Cube 12.8" x 11.3" x 2.4" (325mm x 288mm x 60mm), 5.6 liters

You also have the option of using the Eagle Creek Pack-It Specter 2 cubes, which are super light weight, but the sil-nylon is so thin that the cubes only hold their shapes from the contents.

I'll point you to a few threads where you can see these products in use:
The Tri-Star Medium packing cube is a mesh cube; the WF Small packing cube is a solid Dyneema cube, if it makes a difference. also, the Tri-Star Medium packing cube can hold a Small Cafe Bag inside it. (There's an Azalea Small Cafe Bag inside my picture of the Tri-Star Medium Packing Cube that is just like the one in Ms. Moon's Iceland trip photos. Also, two of the Eagle Creek Specter Quarter Cubes (the ones that are violently colored in Tangerine and Strobe Green in Ms. Ferret's pictures) exactly fit inside the Small Cafe Bag. The white Eagle Creek Specter Quarter Cube that is slipped into the water bottle pocket in my picture of the Synapse is the same size, and you can also check Lani's pictures of the Specter 2 cubes.

For the bottom pocket (and quite generally), the 3D Clear Organizer Cubes (or their mesh or Dyneema equivalents) work well. A Side Effect may work even better (as it is slightly larger -- the Eagle Creek Specter 2 Quarter Cubes would fit inside a Side Effect). The Snake Charmer is too large for the Synapse 19 bottom front pocket, but matches the bottom pocket of the Synapse 25 pretty well.

I carry a pen & pencil organizer pouch in one of the side pockets and put a set of eating utensils (or at least a spoon) inside. I also carry a small shop bag rolled up in the other side pocket. See GEOcycle's post about accessing the side pockets in the Synapse continues to Surprise thread. If I'm carrying an extra power outlet for international use, the shop bag is rolled around the outlet.

I keep a Aeronaut end pocket cube with a spare t-shirt, socks and undies in my Synapse19 as a semi-ready BOB. Easy to just pull it out if I need to use the bag for a day bag etc. A couple of 3D cubes holding toiletries etc fit in the main compartment and leaves plenty room to toss my ipad in too.

A couple of mini pouches for my earbuds/fak in one side pocket (these move between my various bags), a sz 1 sack with toothpaste/brush, hand sanitizer etc lives in the other side.

I have non-TB organiser with various just in case stuff in the bottom pocket - wanted something more structured than TB offers for this stuff.
        List under construction ....
