I assume the waist straps for the Side Effect are the same as the ones that come with some other Tom Bihn bags. Is there any way to make it so that the waist straps don't flap? They're so loooonnng. You all know what I mean, right?

In general, you can use either elastic loops or Web dominator clips. Take a look at the Synapse 25 Questions forum thread. There are links to web pages where you can buy both. Elastic loops or strapeez are probably most comfortable here, but for my other bags I've used Web dominator clips (which you can also order from Amazon).

Juliana, it really helps to shop around. I think I got mine at Supply Captain, but don't see them listed now. The link above is much less expensive than some others I found quickly with google. I know mine were under $1 each. Several I found quickly were almost $2 each. Milatary, tactical gear, and military surplus stores are where they seem the easiest to find.
