Hello All! First post to the forum! Had a beloved Sapphire (Indigo? Can't remember. Bright blue!) and Solar Tristar for years, and just got a STUNNING Navy/Iberian Synapse. First of all, the bag is gorgeous inside and out, the parapack is STUNNING, it's almost iridescent like a blue beetle wing almost. Though blue, not green, it makes me think of the Ellen Terry beetle wing Lady M dress (Ellen Terry as Lady Macbeth - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). Superlative much?
Anyway. I'm a little concerned there may be a tiny flaw though...
As I was examining the bag, looking up from the bottom front pocket at the lining 'floor' of the water bottle and side pockets, there are two tiny holes in the lining just at the edge of the two side pockets. This is not the place where the 'mesh' in between the side and water bottle pockets where the mesh has an opening (I knew to expect that). Rather it is almost pinhole size holes in the dyneema itself. They're almost exactly parallel to one another and placed in the same spot on each pocket, which made me think they were deliberate, but I couldn't figure out what for. Each is about a quarter inch away (on the side pocket side) from the stitching where the mesh between the water bottle and side pockets is attached to the lining material above the bottom pocket (say that ten times fast). I'm sure I'm doing a poor job of describing this, I'm going to post a picture this evening if I can figure out how. Mostly, since they seemed kinda deliberately placed, I didn't know if I was worrying over nothing, but I couldn't quite figure out what they were for and since they weren't 'finished' in any way, I didn't know what to make of them.
Drainage for water bottle condensation? Where the blackhole that allows the bag to hold such a plethora of things is accessed? Do any of the other fine Synapse owners have this on their bag, or any awesome knowledge to share? I didn't want to contact customer service if this was something expected and I was too oblivious to see how/where.
I tried to search the forum about this, not sure if it just hasn't been asked before, or my search skills are lacking. Sorry for the TL;DR post and yay Tom Bihn!
