    I think I have a serious problem.

Received my order for a Black Halcyon/Nortwest Sky Pilot today (plus some key straps, cache, and absolute strap). This is my 3rd Tom Bihn bag purchase (Black Halcyon/Nortwest Sky S19 & 525 Ballistic Cloud/Island S25) in addition to a few accessories. Tom Bihn, you really must stop making such great high quality stuff so I can stop ordering it. Wink

    Just kidding. Keep it up.

No seriously, I think my wife might divorce me if I order anything else.

At least when she tells you to pack your bags and get out you can do it in style.

@Ilkyway I’ve been trying to convert her from the “carry everything I own in a rolling suitcase” type traveler, but without much success. She just doesn’t like to carry her stuff. I have given the luminary serious thought though.

@harrisip lol. Yes I would. Smilie

I tried that with something small, got the family each their own 3DOCC 3-1-1 bag.

I've managed to convince mine away from the rollers on our last trip, but now it's the "Why a $300 Aeronaut when I can use this $20 Adidas duffel bag?"

The partners of Bihnions seem to be somewhat stubborn all around the world ;-)

My husband came around after a while only my teenager is still resisting, though not on the travel bags. With her the flexibility of backpack mode and hand carry mode combined with gorgous Aubergine won her over. She refuses to use a Tom Bihn backpack though and I think that os a daughter/mum thing. I would not have wanted to be seen with something my mother fancied back than either.

My advice: hang in there I think I have a serious problem.

@Ilkyway its because a TB backpack would just look odd worn in teenager mode (ie. slung REALLY low) ... she’ll come round when ergonomics are more important than fashion Big Grin

In my experience, the Large Shop Bag was very convincing - it didn't take long for my partner to go from "why pay that much when I can get cheapo reusable bags basically for free??" to "do you think we have enough TB Shop Bags?" Maybe two or three grocery trips together Smilie

    @Ilkyway,

Since you weren't on the forums in 2012, I'll point you to @maverick/s thread titled help!

    Here's how it starts off:

so i suggest the little swift.

she says - no, she wants to spend at least $100 on a bag. so i tell her - the little swift in cork costs more than $100.

she responds - she wants to spend at least $200 on a bag, at the mall, with a brand name.

i tell her that the little swift is a brand name bag - it's a tom bihn bag. and if it were sold in the mall, it would cost twice what you pay getting it directly from tom bihn.

it's designed in the us, and made in the us with materials sourced in the us (except the cork from portugal and the dyneema from japan) by fine folks who are paid fair wages. and tom is a super cool guy! and you know where those other materials come from and you are buying from a company who puts forth the due diligence with regard to the manufacturers who provide those materials.

she mentions michael kors and something else. she says she likes michael kors because it has the same initials as her.

i suggest that she change her name to toni braxton or tyra banks to address that oh so important requirement.

she still wants to go to the mall.

she mentions again that the louis vuitton isn't comfortable to carry.

so i say, okay, why don't you carry the cocoa ultrasuede little swift in the mean time, until you find something else that you like.

i point out the poron foam filled handles and the fact that it can be carried on your shoulder on in your hand.

i even offer to transfer the contents of her louis vuitton into little swift. everything fits wonderfully!

so she's off to the mall, carrying the little swift, looking for a michael kors bag or who knows what else.

i'm not sure what else to do...let's see what happens...
Just for your information (and because I think you'll appreciate reading maverick's arguments)

Haha I think it’s a “problem” we all have faced at some point. I’ve tried getting my mom to switch from VB to TB to no avail, but my SO now, after a trip to the Mothership in March, has more TB bags than I do and her mother is also on her way to amassing a collection!
