400d Halcyon/420d nylon ripstop exterior / 200d Halcyon lining
Synik 22: 2 lb 7.9 oz / 1130 grams
Synik 30: 2 lb 13.7 oz / 1295 grams
This is exciting as every ounce lighter makes me happy with my 7kg limit. The compression straps inside can be removed? They must weigh at least one ounce? (I only wish I were joking about this)![]()
I like all the blues and greys...and all the happy citrus colours too! My search unicorn is the Sapphire Dyneema original Small Shop Bag...
Hi Everyone,
Just letting you all know I posted my initial review in the Photos, Videos, Reviews section. It is titled “Synik 30 Review: The New Pack For You?
It felt like a big huge brainstorming session to figure out this bag through pics and different packing strategies and comparisons to other Tom Bihn bags.
Happy to answer any questions!

Darcy, sorry for making you repeat on this subject, but I'm not sure what you mean by your paragraph. Is a Guide's Edition Synik planned for next year? I love the Guide's Edition Synapse Deep Blue / Coyote and would love to get a Synik of that color combo. I see that one of the Synik pre-order colors is "Deep Blue 525 Ballistic/Coyote 210 Ballistic" but I presume that one has black zippers instead of coyote colored zippers? We originally planned to offer a Guide’s Edition Synik, but then we decide to move forward and approve lab dips of our 525d ballistic in Coyote (couldn’t help it: it just looks great). Having 525d in Coyote means we could make “full Coyote” Guide’s Edition bags and we figured it would be best to wait until we could offer that combination…. and that’ll probably be early next year.
I'd like do the same if I could...
directly ask to TB : emailus@tombihn.com
just a Bihnion here
Is the main compartment zip on the Synik chunkier than the one used on the synapses? I'm thinking of the S19 here since that's what I have.
It looks bigger in the photos.
How does the zip size on the new bag compare to the sizes used on other TB bags in the same size range e.g. Western Flyer, Smart Alec, A30?
Reason I ask is that the Western Flyer has a super chunky zip which is ok if the bag is ballistic but seemed a bit heavy for the halcyon fabric (which is why I switched to ballistic, well that and the Nordic colour wasn't really me).
I'm thinking ballistic for the S22 anyway because of the colours available, so maybe it doesn't matter, but I was wondering.

I'm pretty sad that the Synik 22 can't accommodate a MacBook Pro 15 😭
I have a 24oz hydro flask. Its 12 inches long. Will it fit in the synik 22?

Did any reviewers get a Parapack version? Or a Halcyon version?
Would really love to see Parapack pictures!
Not sure if the link is allowed but search for “Tom Bihn Bags BST”.
