Yeoman carry methods?

Can carry by hand, and with a strap on the shoulder, but are the handles long enough to allow for it to be carried as a "backpack" in a pinch if you need your hands free and don't want the bag flying about on your hip? Invariably shoulder bags always fall in front when you have to lean over a lot. Or would something like that necessitate an Aeronaut (as it's design with bp straps in mind)?

I'm not sure which size of Yeoman Duffel it is, but one of the photos on the YD product page looks to me like exactly what you describe, with the model wearing it as a "backpack".

Also, depending on the shoulder strap you use, it is possible to carry over one shoulder but on your back, "sling bag" style or even, with a bit of trickery and hacking, two shoulder straps but used as backpack straps. Not personally tested but a friend has used a Small YD like this!

The larger YDs can be carried, albeit not very comfortably, with the handles as backpack straps.

I tried today to use the handles as backpacks straps with a small Yeoman fully packed. I am 6ft and 154lbs and I just managed to squeeze my arms through the handles. It was very uncomfortable and I would certainly not carry the bag this way. It might work with larger Yeomans but I think the design of the handles is made for hand carry and not for using them in the backpack mode.
