I was wondering how some of the Tom Bihn fabrics compare to each other (motivated initially by weight), and I found that it was not always easy to tease out the differences when looking at the Materials Glossary, so I thought I'd make a comparison table (plus fold in some info from the Color List + News thread.
Name Weight (oz/yd2) Current colors Aether 2.4 Northwest Sky, Island, Violet, Wasabi Halcyon 200d 4.2 Northwest Sky, Island, Ultraviolet, Wasabi, Iberian 210d ballistic 5.8 Black, Cloud, Coyote, Dawn, Island, Grass, Viridian Halcyon 400d 5.9 Black, Original 420d Parapack 7.6 Black, Navy, Steel 630d 50% recycled 7.8 Nebulous Grey, Logic Blue, Seapine Green 525d ballistic 11.8 Black, Aubergine, Deep Blue, Nebulous Grey, Mars Red, Burnt Orange, Cloud, Alphaviolet 1050d ballistic 14.7 Black, Aubergine, Navy, Steel, Verde, Burnt Orange, Coyote
Of course, there's more to a fabric than its weight and color! Refer to the master materials glossary for more details.
(My reason for doing this at all was to help myself understand why a given product might be made with some set of materials instead of others.)
