Does Tom Bihn sell any padded bags?

Iím looking to get a padded bag for some audio gear. Does TB sell any bags that have padding? Or are there any suggestions for Tom BIHN-esque bag designers who make bags that can take a beating and the insides wonít get broken?

Maybe @AVService can comment on this. I know that he uses customized Pelikan cases for some items.

TB bags are all soft, even the ones with a little padding (usually on the back of a backpack). It sounds like you want a hard sided case like a Pelican case.

I’d actually prefer not to have a hard case. Those bags just get so heavy even ignoring what you are storing in them!!

The Cadet is padded, but it's roughly briefcase shaped and may not be ideal for the particular gear you're looking for.

Today's lightweight electronics can also be insubstantial. The cost and hassle of external protection (such as hard cases or extreme 3D padding covered with heavy duty materials) is directly proportional to the sum of the cost and essentialness of the enclosed items. If you need your gear to arrive in perfect working order under any conditions, you spend what you must and accept whatever the external case requires of you.

For decades all of my A/V gear traveled in Anvil ATA road cases. Then we moved to Pelican as the toys got lighter and smaller. Then we moved to soft-side camera cases from Lowe, Mountainsmith, and PortaBrace. Then we found hard plastic boxes that slipped inside our luggage and backpacks. but if we were heading out on the Snake River, we pulled out the water tight Pelicans because RIVER.
