I have to say I love the look of the Ursa, especially paired with the black. Heart Eyes You haven’t made the decision easier...

Also, if I see that right you have like side access to the pockets inside of the flap even when the flap is closed, because the pockets now open to the side. That would be great, you could keep your phone in there and have easier access.

@Darcy Are the inside out zippers the same as were used on the old Synapses? I always feel like those look a bit iffy on well used secondhand bags...

    Shadow Guide?

    !!!

Well now I definitely want a SG23 in Ursa.

For those of us who are hikers, that vented back panel design is a game changer.

I'm not Darcy, but I would say no. The Synapse zippers were water proof (Aquagard), these new zippers are water repellant.

@sturbridge has it right. The inside-out zippers used on the older Synapses are the same Aquaguard zippers that we use now -- it's just that on the older Synapses the Aquaguard zippers were sewn upside down.

The zippers on the Shadow Guide are Racquet Coil zippers with a C6 Durable Water Repellant (DWR) coating: they don't have the Uretek/Aquaguard weatherproofing on the underside.
Have a question? @Darcy (to make sure I see it)

Current carry: testing new potential materials in the form of Original Large Shop Bags.

@b1gsky , you might want to take a look at the pictures in my post (#3, dated 08-09-2016) in the Upside down zippers thread. They are excerpted from another thread where @tpnl applied Aerospace 303 to the zippers. (This is a compound you can pick up in automotive repair stores, or in hardware stores or in the automotive section of large drugstores. Here’s a link to 303 Products 30307 Aerospace Schutz-Spray UV-Schutz, 296 ml in the German Amazon store that may give you an idea of the product; the older links discussed alternative similar brands).

HTH, sorry for the digression from the Shadow Guide discussion

Love this pack, but so wish it had a snow collar and some kind of attachment points on the sides.

These are gorgeous! The SGs look very sleek indeed. I love the laptop compartment. (Your demo partners are also very cool, and I love their outings as well!!)

Seen the original Guides Pack? It has various attachment points - styled differently but the same essential bag

    Love it!

    Questions:

    1. Can we get more photos of the SGs in Ursa?
    2. Are the cord zipper pulls removable without cutting them off?
    3. When they're available for order, will it be a pre-order model similar to how you did the GE Syniks, where you took orders first then made the bags to ensure there'd be enough stock?

I also would like to see more pictures of the Ursa SG. Plus a picture of the inside would be great. Are there still loops so that you could add a cache (or HLT) to it?

Also, my first reaction when I saw the video of the SG23 was that those straps seem to be super long. I get that you need some room to pack the bag to the brim and still close it, but I don’t think I would ever need that much strap length.
