Im getting a Dell Latitude 5501 for work and trying to figure out which TB bag would be the smallest practical for EDC, essentially.
Commute is sometimes by bus.
Thanks for any recommendations!

Looking forward to replies on this, have the same laptop. @CammeronJ for what its worth, Ive been eyeing the cadet or S25.
Although my needs are slightly different, as I need to take frequent overnight/two-day trips for work.

Welcome to the Forums, @CammeronJ and @bxvr! Are you looking for a backpack or more of a briefcase style?
I think you've named almost all of the bags that make sense to me, except for the Synik 30, which may be able to just barely hold it in the integrated laptop compartment. (I have neither the laptop nor the SN30, so I can't verify that, sorry.)
For EDC only and preferring a briefcase, I think I'd recommend the Cadet. For travel, probably the Western Flyer (which can double as a briefcase if you don't mind it being pretty big), a Synapse/Synik, or the Cadet packed flat into a larger bag.
Thanks @x3n0n! I think WF + cache as my business trip bag makes most sense.
For what it's worth, a forum search will find a couple of discussions about using the WF as an EDC briefcase; some people are pretty skeptical about its looks, but a few people have posted about favorable experiences.
You'll find lots of favorable reviews for the WF for short (or even long) trips, both business and pleasure.![]()
Hey @x3n0n ! What did you end up getting?
Lets wake this post back up for the new year! LOL
I have a Cadet that I keep at work for my work laptop and such. I will say that in a pinch I could likely travel with it, if I had the right packing cubes etc.
My Dell E6500, a 15" laptop which I don't use anymore but still have around, fits in a Cadet briefcase, an Empire Builder briefcase, a Daylight backpack and a Luminary 15 backpack. It just fits in the Luminary and I don't recommend that given the way the laptop's metal corners stress the pack fabric. The others are easy fits.
