Synapse 19 vs 25 in Halcyon

Greetings all, I have a synapse 19 in original halcyon and use it daily for edc. Most of the time it is fine, size wise. However there are a few occasions when I need to carry more than will fit and I end up using one of my large SB’s. I originally ordered the S25 in ballistic and it was too large for my just shy of 5’ 2” frame. Would the S25 in halcyon “feel” smaller as the fabric is more pliable, or will it still be too big on me? Thanks for any insight.

At 5ft even I love the s25, but I can see why some might not like it. It sits lower on your backbone. I didn’t have a problem and in fact lately I have been feeling that s19 is too small and sits too high on me. The halcyon is more pliable. Did you have the frame sheet with your original s25? It makes a HUGE difference in carry.

Thanks, melminimalist, I did not have the frame sheet for the original S25. Do you recommend it for the halcyon version?

I would, it really made a difference in the comfort of carry.

I think the halcyon S25 will be worse than the ballistic. The ballistic has form to and the halcyon will “slouch” I think. If you didn’t like how low the ballistic hung on your back I don’t think the halcyon will be any better.

I love my Halcyon S25, because it can conform a bit more to whatever is inside it. It doesn't have as much form, which is ok. It's also delightfully light.
