More than anything, I appreciate the fact that my fiancée, her mother, and myself have made it safely through the year and can still share a table together this Thanksgiving.

On a more selfish level, I am enormously grateful that my favorite form of weekend recreation - hiking - was only minimally interrupted by the pandemic when state parks temporarily closed earlier this year.

I'm appreciative of my family, especially my wife!

I've been really appreciating my new friends in grad school. We were recently given a space in our department where we can study and still be social distanced, so being able to hang out with them and get through classwork together has been refreshingly normal-even if we still have to sit far apart from each other. After like eight months of seeing almost nobody outside of my immediate family, it's been fantastic to hang out with other people.

I am really appreciating my 21-year-old cat at the moment.

He nearly passed away a few weeks ago, but has slowly been making a rebound.

Through a tough period of regular vet visits and spoonfeeding, more and more of his awesome personality resurfaces each day. He's an absolute champ.

Here's hoping he will make it to 22... and thanks to him for helping keep me (mostly) sane though these nine months of covid isolation.

PS - Another big thanks to TB for the always excellent masks and bags (plus this giveway, of course)! :-)

I am thankful for the time I have had to spend outdoors on my bike since this pandemic started, and especially the chance to get my husband and brother and parents to join me on rides. It gives us a feeling of freedom and adventure, and lots of time to talk. Every ride becomes a cherished memory. I just got back from a great all-day ride with my brother, 61 miles.
