Favorite Holiday Song?

Several folks have mentioned music in the 'what are you carrying thread' and holiday music has come up a couple times...

So... What's your favorite holiday song/music?

There's a lot of good holiday music, but the one that always brings a smile to my face and gets me singing along (whilst cleaning/cooking/wrapping/etc) is Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses

EDIT: aargh, one is hard... Carol of the Bells (acapella) is also a fave

I like all the blues and greys...and all the happy citrus colours too! My search unicorn is the Sapphire Dyneema original Small Shop Bag...

Only one song? That's tough. Smilie

I always put on an album called An Evening in December, by First Call. It reminds me of singing carols with our choir in college. We did some of the songs from that collection, along with Carol of the Bells.

I also love Sting's If on a Winter's Night. Lo How a Rose E'er Blooming (featured on this album) is another of my favorite carols.

Grandma Got Run Over by A Reindeer still makes me laugh.

Oooo... tough call...

Contemporary iteration: I'll go with Come all ye Faithful by Pentatonix. Can't help but dance when this comes up in the playlist...; or The Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Soulful Messiah

Classic: Little Drmmer Boy, hands down.

Favorite Holiday Song?

Can't choose just one! Christmas music is too wonderful.

In 1996 or so I bought this lovely Hear Music compilation:
https://www.allmusic.com/album/snow-...n-mw0000613077

The first and fifth tracks are my favorite. For some reason my track 4 is different than the listing (on mine is an excellent Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas by Freedy Johnston).

@bartleby
All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey is the greatest pop Christmas song released since Jingle Bell Rock in 1957. I also love Mele Kalikimaka by The Andrews Sisters and Bing Crosby from 1950.

@G42 I never knew the name of Christmas Wrapping!! It's always on the radio and I do enjoy it. Also, with you on Carol of the Bells. My favorite of that genre.

Finally, the inescapable Do They Know It's Christmas. Original Band Aid 1984 version obviously. This clip of it always makes me smile. In 2008 James Corden was not known for singing in a car and yet here we are, a sign of things to come:

I have been enjoying the Maccabeats' annual Hanukkah releases the past few years. (One does not need to be Jewish to enjoy them.) Each one typically has the tune of a familiar pop song, but special lyrics for Hanukkah. I love these songs for the joy the Maccabeats bring to the singing (and the videos are fun too). Here are my favorites:

Latke Recipe (2015)
Candlelight (2010)
Miracle (2011)

I love the original Grinch song sung by Thurl Ravencroft (who has the best name ever).

I do NOT like Baby It's Cold Outside, because he puts a roofie in her drink.
