I've been promising to write reviews of the bags I purchased in December and travelled with in March... but my life has gotten out of control! Sidekick review is posted, and I'm working on the Aeronaut 30 review (just need some pics of packing it, then I can publish it)

Just found this youtube review from Pack Hacker.

Tom Bihn Synik 30 Vs Tom Bihn Synapse 25 Backpack Comparison
    https://youtu.be/k8SZMMOqJNY

It looks like it solved all the issues I had with Synapse.

If any of you are also in the 'FIRE - Financial Independence/Retire Early' communities, you've probably read blogger JD Roth from 'Get Rich Slowly' or 'Money Boss'

Over the years his packing style has gotten lighter/more minimalist...lately he's done a lot of traveling and wrote a blog post showcasing some videos of his early packing style vs his most recent trip which was using just a Synapse 19:

    https://www.getrichslowly.org/ultralight-packing/

Here's just the S19 video...very rushed as he did it right before going to the airport:

I like all the blues and greys...and all the happy citrus colours too! My search unicorn is the Sapphire Dyneema original Small Shop Bag...

    Best soft-sided Carry-on

The Aeronaut 45 was declared to be the 2019 best soft-sided carry-on; see

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/...19/3998250002/

    No surprises, of course.

I clicked through to the 'best for underseat' link and they picked the Western Flyer for that

The Pilot in Burnt Orange is in the current print issue of WIRED!

And the Synik was included in this bag round-up over at flyertalk.
Have a question? @Darcy (to make sure I see it)

Current carry: testing new potential materials in the form of Original Large Shop Bags.

Really useful review with excellent photos! For anyone planning to travel to Japan, take note of the Aeronaut fitting into a small size coin locker. Larger coin lockers get filled first but the small size lockers are almost always available.
A30 in original halcyon/wasabi. Side Kick in verde/northwest sky and cloud/viridian, Pop Tote in Mars Red and Nebulous Grey, Travel Cubelet in Mars Red, Viridian and Grass, A30 packing cube backpack in northwest sky, large travel tray in sitka, packing cubes, pouches and cubelets

Now that they're back to shipping again, a few of you may have been thinking of taking advantage of the discounted price of the original ICON, now that we know they are releasing an updated version later this year. So I made a video review of the original Icon and how it compares to the proposed changes of the updated version. Hopefully this helps someone who is deciding whether to take advantage of the discounted price and just get the original or wait for the updated version. You can watch it here.

    I'm pretty sure that's an A45.
