Travel Tray usage - anyone use as Toiletry or Spiff Kit?

I donít own one yet but I like the functionality of the TT. I like the idea of sitting it up on the bathroom counter to hold toiletries.

Iím a guy, who doesnít need much. Toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, maybe a travel size lotion.

The spiff kit (from viewing pics) seems like it would have more space than I need. But the TT seems like it would pack down and take less space.

I don't use mine that way. I prefer to use 3DOC as my dopp kit for a similar collection of things as you mentioned.

The length of the toothbrush would be the thing that determines what will work here. A small TT would fit your stuff if it were all travel sized, with a folding toothbrush.

That would work pretty well. I used a small TT on vacation and we put our folding toothbrushes in.

Downside is that any liquid toiletries you have will still need to go into a plastic bag when you pass through TSA checkpoints.

I like the 3DOC, too, because it works as a 3-1-1 bag and I can use a keystrap (or the hook) to hang it from a hook or towel bar. I often don't have enough counterspace when I travel and this keeps my stuff off the counter.

However, I do use the TT next to my bedside.

My wife and I use the 3DOC as toiletry case. I had got a TT for my wife for her to use like I do: random stuff catcher when I reach destination, but she used it as a makeup bag. The only caviot I might have for using the TT as a toiletry bag is that security at the airport might get upset that your liquids are not in a 3-1-1 bag. That's why we use the 3DOC.

Good points about liquids in an airport. I guess I was thinking that I never have any, but toothpaste would count, and I may sometimes bring lotion. So, a 3DOC is probably the right call. I guess I will have to get them both, and enjoy them both Smilie Thanks all!

Guys, you can always put the liquids in a 1-quart ziploc and then put THAT in your 3DOC or TT etc.

OP, if you're VERY minimal, I have found the small Q-kit to be great for my dopp.
