How do I attach the backpack straps on the Western Flyer?

I just received my new Western Flyer. I opened the back zip pocket and pulled out the backpack straps, but they're only attached at the top of the straps. The bottom of both straps has a buckle - both straps has the "male" part of the buckle, and I don't see anywhere on the outside of the bag that they would clip into to actually attach them. Am I being really dense, or did I get a defective bag?

It's cunningly hidden! Hang on, I'll go take a picture on my own Western Flyer to show you.

OK, here we go. First, the back of a Western Flyer, apparently no hardware anywhere except the zipper that hides the backpack straps...

...and the pocket where the backpack strap's buckle hides! The buckle is hard to see here because it's in the shadow of my hand, you might be able to just make it out. (And of course there's a matching one on the other side for the other strap.)

Did that make the hidden buckles appear on your Western Flyer too?

    P.S. Welcome to the Forums!
    I have a bunch of great bags. Favorite color combos include Aubergine/Island, Navy/Solar, Forest/UV, Original Halcyon/Wasabi, Cloud/Viridian.

I've fulfilled my dream of palindromic-colored nested bags! Navy/Ultraviolet Pilot with Aubergine/Island Side Effect inside: blue purple purple blue. Forest/UV A45 with Aubergine/Wasabi Co-Pilot inside: green purple purple green.

P.S. I hope you'll enjoy your Western Flyer as much as I like mine!
