Ballistic Fabric Question

Hello everyone,

I know the ballistic fabrics tend to have a little bit of a sheen to them, but I noticed an extra shiny spot on my black travel/everyday cubelet in 210d ballistic. I haven't really done much with the bag, so I'm guessing it came like that and I'm just now noticing. Not that I think it's a flaw, per se. Instead, I'm guessing it's just a characteristic of the fabric. Anyone else experience this / know why the fabric behaves like this in some places?

Although it's a little hard to tell, you can see the images below show a little white spot--that's what I'm talking about. It's actually shiny in person, but the pictures shows it as being whiteish.



Anyway, not a big deal. Doesn't affect the bag in anyway, and I still like it quite a bit. Just curious to see if it might've been something I did or if other people have had similar experiences. Perhaps I'm just looking at it too hard! haha

I’m pretty sure what we’re seeing here is very small areas of the DWR (Durable Water Repellent) surface treatment (the water repellant stuff that’s applied to the top of the fabric) turning white-ish after being abraded — not the fabric, but the DWR.

Tl;dr - If it is in fact a scuff, it will in no way affect the use or durability of your bag! (I can tell you that I have given my son a couple different TB bags to use at school - depending on how much he needed to carry - and they have survived his very harsh treatment without any points of failure.)
