Thanks for putting all this together. I also was thinking of paper maps if cell towers go out.
Would love to see your Bugoutbag packing list. I just got aBrain bag and this sounds like a good idea.
I also like original halcyon. You might consider a daylight backpack. Don’t know if they are available in oh but they have a longer “look” to me and always useful as a packable daypack.
I found the Luminary 15 to be too short to wear comfortably, and I’m a foot shorter than the original poster!
Members of the TB BST have been discussing the use of the DLBP for short hikes. I’d like to add some support in the bag. Has anyone improvised a frame sheet or used a Freudian slip?
I remember charter flights being available in the 1970s. I think it was under $600 to fly from California to London. This was part of a university study course.
I have an Ape camera case and it provides padding and structure inside my DLBC which I use as camera bag. The outside pockets are handy for water bottle and wallet and won’t occupy same space as...
What a fun thread. I have hopes that a trip planned for December will happen. It will cruise from Athens to Lebanon and Egypt. Had three trips cancelled so far, but doing lots of downsizing stuff...
Love the comment about the portable potty. Found the one we used with the kids recently and while we are hoping for grandchildren some day, I will keep the potty and Smart Alec pairing in mind for...
Wondering if anyone has a hack for Smart Alec.
I have carried Cafe bags and a Side Kick on travels. Things can fall out of Cafe bags under the airline seat. A pickpocket did unzip my Side Kick and I have learned to use a carabiner on the outer...
I’m wondering if you need to carry whole packages with you. Can a few wipes be in a sandwich sized plastic bag and refilled in the car? You could also have one out to clean car handles or carts too....
I couldn’t complete a order for a GES25 since my son got laid off, but I’d like to purchase some smaller items to help things along. Would like to preorder a Truck in Wilderness and stuff sacks in...
Welcome to the obsession! I am wondering if some of your tools like scissors may make it necessary for you to have checked luggage on a plane flight. That can change not only your choice of bag but...
I personally would be hesitant to put any lunch with other non food items because of leakage but I would suggest a Traveltrayor DLBP as a lunch carrier. Either could be folded up in your Pilot to...
I would like it

I really like my DLBC.I paired it with a TB Absolute Strap which also has an OpTech tag on it. Turns out this strap also has a smaller pad attached as well. The original halcyon DLBC also has side...
Thanks for the information about the different fabric on the PCSB. If this is thinner (don’t know if less dense is the descriptor) it may show marks more than 525?...
I also wonder if different color batches also make a difference. My coyote 525 PCSB also shows white scuff marks from carrying a camera battery inside but this never shows on my black halcyon PCSB...
Actually there’s a TWA hotel at JFK but don’t know the costs.
I have a Daylight Briefcase and really like its ability to keep everything in zippered sections. Sometimes it seems small, but a Pilot is too large to carry. Has anyone got a Copilot and DLBC? The...
I have an Eagle Creek digihauler which is lightweight, has minimal backpack straps that hide away, hooks for strap carry and carryon size. Don’t know if it is still available but might be worth...
I don’t have a Cubelet, but I really like the PCSB. When it’s warmer, it can be easier to use the PCSB as the backpack can get sticky feeling. It would also be big enough to put in phone, sunscreen,...
DeBru and G42 - your comments are so helpful. I have a Synik 30 coming but I also have a SA and A30. I am hoping to use the SA as personal item with a roller but ended up with using the A30 for the...
